The Ondo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to investigate alleged phony deductions to the tune of N357m from accounts of ondo local governments by the trio of the Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria ( ALGON ), Ondo State and Akoko Southwest Local Government Chairman, Oloruntegbe, state Accountant-General, Laolu Akindolire and Commissioner for Finance, Wale Akinterinwa, for extra-legal deductions from accounts of the eighteen local governments in the state.
Furthermore, they want the fraud detecting agency to take a closer look at projects executed with the sum of N119m deducted from the monthly allocation of the 18 local governments in the state.
NULGE in addition to investigating these personalities and local government accounts, as well as projects executed, wants the immediately arrest of these top personalities identified.
Addressing a press briefing in Akure on these distasteful developments, state President of NULGE, Comrade Bola Taiwo, disclosed that the phoney deductions were for the purported building of Comprehensive Healthcare Centres in all the local government areas of the state.
He said the impact of these nefarious activities, was the non receipt of full monthly salaries by workers at the grassroots.
