For widows in the constituent communities of Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, it was dancing and praises to God and Ondo State First Lady, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, as her ” Ada Owere Widows’ Care Palliative’, brought immense joy to them.
The epoch programme organised by the Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu Foundation (BAAF), in collaboration with Nde Ugoeze, Owerri North, was held at the Eze Onuegwunwoke Office Complex, Owerri North Council Headquarters, Orie, Uratta, Owerri, Imo State Capital.
It was another life changing programme of the First Lady, who has gained the reputation for bringing succour to all cadres of society.
Widows are often left on their own to cater for themselves and their children, as family of their deceased husbands shy away from the responsibility of taking care of them.
The programme of the First Lady, was thus a humanitarian gesture to relieve the widows of the burden of single-handedly taking care of their families.
The widows expressed appreciation to God Almighty and the First Lady for coming to their aid.
