3,770.39kg of cannabis (Indian hemp) and 128kg of other illicit drugs were seized last quarter of 2020 by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ondo State in the last quarter of last year.
In addition, 60 suspected drug traffickers were arrested. These were 52 males and eight females.
Commandant, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ondo State, Mr. Haruna Gagara, who made this disclosure, said the female suspects were involved in illicit drugs and psychotropic substances while 128kg of skutchies and 13.8kg of monkey tail were also seized.
He explained that four vehicles and one Honda motorcycle used for transporting illicit substances were intercepted by operatives of his agency.
The Commandant further said his agency had successfully prosecuted and secured conviction for 15 suspects at the Federal High Court, Akure Division while 107 cases are still pending.”
