The State Government’s dream for a revolution in the cocoa industry, received a boost with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU) , with a United States Of America concern, SPAGNVOLA Chocolatie LLC, on the establishment of a Cocoa Academy, where indigenes are to be trained on the processing of cocoa to chocolate.

Signing the MOU on behalf of State Government, Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Aderotimi Adelola , said the partnership would enhance the wealth of farmers and improve their lot while equally moving the agricultural sector in the state forward.

He stated that government is embarking on its promised cocoa revolution which encompasses an improved production of cocoa beans, more profitable marketing of cocoa by farmers and processing of cocoa into finished consumer products. He explained that with the establishment of  the chocolate academy, Ondo State indigenes will be trained on how to convert cocoa to various end products, particularly chocolate, which will transform farmers from mere producers of cocoa beans to manufacturers of end products.
