Ondo State’s Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Mrs Omobola Johnson, chairs the 30 mmember Commonwealth ICT Ministers Forum.
At a recent meeting in London , the two-day meeting reviewed recommendations for a pan-Commonwealth cyber-governance model and ways of improving access to technology for users with disabilities.
Cyber security and cybercrime were also given another look .
The forum was the first ever and was jointly organised by the CTO and the Commonwealth Secretariat, with representation from large Commonwealth countries as India and smaller island nations like Nauru.
It followed an endorsement last year by the Heads of Government of a multi-stakeholder partnership , involving the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation and the International Telecommunication Union , to develop national broadband policies and strategies and bridge the digital divide.
