- FORUM PASSED VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE ON THE COMMITTEE.
- SAID COMMITTEE IS BIASED TOWARDS AKEREDOLU
- WANTS DISSOLUTION OF PARTY EXECUTIVE IN THE STATE
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state under the auspices of the Unity Forum , have passed a vote of no confidence of the National Reconciliation Committee led by a former National Chairman of the Party, Chief Bisi Akande.
In a statement issued at the end of a meeting held in Akure, signed by former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi , the forum alleged that Chief Bisi Akande is on governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s pay roll and will not do justice in his new capacity.
Furthermore, composition of the council did not reflect the real membership spread of the party in the state , as it comprises “yes men” and cabinet members of the Governor , except in one or two local governments.
They equally sought the dissolution of the Party Executive in the state , adding that the Governor through some of its leaders have been blocking the dissolution that was jointly agreed on in the presence of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other distinguished elders of the party.
The Forum after reviewing arrangements for the local government election scheduled for April , condemned steps taken by the Adetimehin Executive, stating that their actions were certainly not in the best interest of the party .
Olanusi and his group said Adetimehin led Exco sold Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to over 1000 people for Counsellorship seats at N120,000 per person and over 100 people for Chairmanship seats at the rate of N650,000 per person, only to come out with an already prepared list of 203 Counsellorship seats and 18 Chairmanship seats through imposition , contrary to the APC Constitution.
The meeting called on the party leadership at the National Level to do justice first to the party in the state, instead of searching for peace, adding that if justice is done, peace will naturally return , as Peace without justice is like a ‘Peace of the grave yard’.
The Forum called on party members and followers in the state to be steadfast; continue to stand with the party and also continue to vote the party in all future elections , as it is sure that light will come after the present darkness.
