The State Government, in line with established tradition, commenced the first working day with a prayer session .
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, led other members of the State Executive Council, Senior government officials, and other public servants, at the Courtyard behind the Governor’s office, to dedicate activities of the government in the new year to God.
There were praise and prayer sessions, as well as words of exhortation.
A major feature of the event, was the mark of honour to government workers who died in active service, as attendees as directed, adorned their dressing with black arm band or conspicuous tinge of black, reflecting soberness.
It would be recalled that in the last three weeks, the State Government lost a member of the State Executive Council while the governor’s Chief Protocol Officer, died on Saturday evening.
