Like no other administration before it, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s government has kept its promise of making both the people’s welfare and infrastructural development of the state its top priority.
On assumption of office, he was determined to redefining governance across the state.
Top on his administration’s agenda was road construction and rehabilitation, industrialisation, educational development, agric business among others.
The administration took the five cardinal areas namely; Job Creation, Infrastructural Development, Education, Quality health care, rural development and community extension, very serious.
Since then, the administration has made concerted efforts at ensuring that all road projects initiated by past administrations were completed during his first tenure of governor.
As the first term comes to end, no fewer than 250 kilometers of roads have been constructed across the state.
Prominent among the road projects are, Akure township roads, the dualization of Oke Alabojuto in Ikare Akoko, Rehabilitation of Oke-Oka road in Akoko South West, Owo township road, Ore flyover bridge, among several others across the three senatorial districts.
Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, said the result of the governor’s commitment to Infrastructural development are visible for all to see.
Corroborating the Commissioner, the Special Adviser to the governor on Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Raimi Aminu, also spoke on what the present administration has done for the people of the state on road construction.
House of Assembly Speaker, Bamidele Oloyelogun and his Deputy, Reverend Aderoboye Samuel, also hailed Governor Akeredolu for his people- oriented projects across the state.
Some state legislators, including, Festus Adefiranoye, representing Ile Oluji Oke Igbo Constituency and Toluwalase Oluwasegunota, representing Akoko South East Constituency, were of the view that the projects are evidential testimonies of governor Akeredolu’s determination to implement all his campaign promises.
Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom and Chairman, Ondo Council Of Obas, Oba Fredrick Akinruntan, said the performance of the governor in the last four years is monumental.
Jegun of Idepe Okitipupa, Oba Obatuga Adetoye and Olubaka of Oka land, Oba Adebori Adeleye said various projects within the state attest to the fact that the governor is a serious minded person who takes the development of his people seriously.
Some residents in the three senatorial districts described the achievements of the present administration as remarkable.
As Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu begins another four years in office on 24th February, 2021 and with the testimonies from the people, expectations are high that he will do more than he did in his first term in Ondo state.
