A faction of the state House of Assembly, attempted to forcefully occupy the chambers of the house but were rebuffed by eagle eyed security officials.
The warring 26members of the House have been at loggerheads over the speakership of the assembly in the last two months.
Consequently, security had been beefed up at the Assembly, following a plot by the 13 lawmakers loyal to Malachi Coker to hold a session, despite a contrary directive by the governor, Rotimi Akeredolu SAN.
The other 13 lawmakers led by the Speaker Jumoke Akindele got wind of the intention of their colleagues and mobilized to storm the chambers.
Akeredolu had intervened by meeting separately with the two factions emphasising the need for genuine reconciliation.
Meanwhile, the Akindele faction has withdrawn its case challenging her sack from High Court, Akure, as part of the reconciliation move by the Governor.
