- MINISTER REPRESENTING ONDO STATE IN BUHARI”s CABINET
- He is the Minister for Niger Delta.
President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in Professor Claudius Daramola Omoyele, the representative of Ondo State in his cabinet , as Minister for Niger Delta.
He was born in Ode-Aye, Okitipupa local government area of the state and attended the famous Divisional Teacher Training College for the Teacher Grade II Certificate before proceeding to the University of Sokoto (now Usmanu Dan Fodiyo University, Sokoto).
He moved on to the University of Jos and obtained M. Ed. in Sociology of Education. His Ph. D was earned at the University of Ilorin, where he has been a distinguished Professor of Sociology of Education.
This distinguished son of the soil, has held numerous administrative positions at the university and at the national levels, served on quite a number of committees in the university and edited and co-edited several academic journals in the country and abroad.
The former Head of the Department of Arts and Social Sciences Education at the University of Ilorin, has produced numerous Master’s and Ph. D. graduates and has been external examiner in various universities and colleges. He has also been on accreditation teams to many of the institutions.
A very spiritual person, he has silently worked for the Lord, funding evangelism and ensuring that his family grows according to Christian principles. He donated a ten-seater minibus to the Methodist Church Ode-Aye, in his hometown and founded the Alfred Daramola Memorial Methodist Church in Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara state. The church, which started with a few members, has grown in leaps and bounds.
With Ondo State being an oil producing state and beneficiary of the —-fund, and one on the fringes of the Niger Delta, there is no doubt that he will bring his office to develop the state, especially its riverside areas of Ilaje and environs.
His efforts will complement the State Government’s efforts , as well as those of the Ondo State Oil Producing Development Company ?????( OSOPADEC).
The Minister may want to consult his brother in the state, Hon Kingsley Kuku , who was appointed Special Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan on the Niger Delta and he Chairman Niger Delta Presidential Amnesty Programme.
