The State Government has said it has moved away from agriculture to agricbusiness.
This entails investment in the value chain of various agricultural produce to enhance and boost their economic and financial value.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agribusiness ( SSA ), Akin Olotu, disclosed that government had begun the transportation of tomatoes produced in the state to Mile 12 in Lagos and other parts of the country.
This, it noted, was indeed a feat, “This is the first in the history of the state “, an excited Olotu disclosed.
“The emphasis is moving from just pure Agriculture to Agricbusiness and I don’t need to tell you the advantage in this “.
The nation has indeed learnt its lesson from exporting pure farm produce and earning less , to exporting added value produce in different forms and earning much more foreign exchange .
