In preparation for his swearing in for a second term next week, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has held the valedictory meeting of the State Executive Council and dissolved his cabinet.
Speaking at the meeting, he thanked the outgoing members for their dedication to service, noting that their contributions had led to remarkable achievements recorded in moving the state forward.
He commended them for working with him as a team , with the interest of the state being paramount throughout their service to the state.
There had been speculations in the past few weeks of the dissolution of the cabinet, to pave way for the commencement of the second term.
The Governor is expected to re -appoint some members of the dissolved cabinet to make way for continuity while the fresh ones will bring in fresh ideas.
There have intense lobbying withing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) , for consideration as members of the second term Executive Council and part of the new government.
Other professionals outside the public service have equally been making frantic efforts to be a part of the second term administration.
The Governor and his team have been the subject of discussion in the past few months in the state and beyond, as the administration wound up its first term.
While some citizens commended him for a superlative performance which they claimed earn him his second term, others were full of criticism that he performed below expectation.
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu was re-elected after winning the October 10, 2020 gubernatorial election.
