In continuation of it’s avowed determination to fulfill its mandate of controlling crime and criminal activities in the state, moreover as the Christmas and New year festivities approach, the Ondo Amotekun Corps in concert with other security agencies, has begun a stop-and-search of vehicles and personal identification of individuals in the state.

Commander of the Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, explained that the formation and other security agencies in the state were taking the precautionary measure to checkmate criminals who might be planning to unleash their enterprise during the Yuletide.

He said Amotekun and other security agencies plan a peaceful and entertaining time for residents and visitors to the state during the Yuletide and beyond.

“The aim is to ensure the society is safe and in order to have improved security in the state. This will ensure that all security agencies work in a coordinated manner and avoid duplication of efforts. We don’t want motorists to feel embarrassed when we stop and ask for their identification “.

“The operation clean-up has commenced since December 1, 2021, and beginning from today, we will have men of the Amotekun Corps stationed all over the state in some strategic positions. There will be massive searching and checking of vehicles and this is due to Intelligent reports. I enjoin the general public to cooperate with us “.

Adeleye pleaded with members of the public. “Members of the public are advised to always carry along their means of Identification, vehicle particulars and tinted glass permit if using one.”
