Doctors in the Sunshine State have raised an alarm at the high rate of resignation of doctors in the state public service.

About 150 medical doctors have resigned from the Ondo State public service in the last one year over unpaid salaries by the State Government.

The doctors speaking under the aegis of the state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), said the doctors could not cope with the non payment of their salaries, thus sought greener pastures elsewhere.

They appealed to government to appreciate their lifesaving responsibilities and accord them preference in the payment of salaries and allowances.
