The State Government has intensified its battle against quackery, with the shutting down of fifteen private hospitals and clinics in the Southern Senatorial District of the state.
The action was based on alleged illegal operations and promotion of quackery
Fifteen operators of the health facilities were also apprehended and detained at the police station for allegedly operating private hospitals below the required standard.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Folukemi Aladenola, who disclosed this, said the suspects were arrested after visiting 36 medical clinics located in Ore, Odigbo, Okitipupa, Ilutitun, and Iju-Odo among others.
Also speaking, the Head of the monitoring team and Director, Hospital Services in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ayodele Adelusi, said all the affected facilities would not re-open until the necessary requirements were met.
